It is a <b>passive gaze<\/b>: the player registers images, but the brain may not <b>integrate<\/b>, <b>relate<\/b> or give them <b>meaning<\/b> within the <b>context of the game<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Observing<\/b>, on the other hand, is a <b>cognitive act<\/b>.<br \/>\nIt involves <b>selective attention<\/b>, <b>sustained attention<\/b> and <b>interpretation<\/b>. The difference is not in perceiving more stimuli, but in choosing which ones are <b>most relevant<\/b> at each moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This <b>selection process<\/b> acts as a <b>cognitive filter<\/b> that determines which information is processed and which is discarded. The quality of this filter largely determines the <b>player\u2019s intelligence<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A player who <b>observes well<\/b> reduces <b>uncertainty<\/b> because they detect <b>emerging relevant signals<\/b> in the environment earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">They do not <b>react<\/b> to the game.<br \/>\nThey <b>get ahead<\/b> of it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Heraclitus of Ephesus<\/b> (6th century BC) stated:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIf you do not expect the unexpected, you will not recognise it when it arrives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In <b>football<\/b>, as in life, the <b>unexpected<\/b> is not an exception: it is the norm. Matches do not follow a script. The game is <b>uncertain<\/b>, <b>changing<\/b> and <b>chaotic<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Therefore, during <b>competition<\/b>, the brain cannot limit itself to responding to what is already happening. In football, <b>decisive moments<\/b> do not announce themselves and can appear at any time; therefore, <b>attention cannot be intermittent<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Vigilant attention<\/b>\u2014also known as <b>sustained attention<\/b>\u2014is the ability to maintain <b>cognitive connection<\/b> with the environment over long periods, even when nothing obvious is happening. This state of <b>calm alertness<\/b>, without anxiety, allows the player to stay connected to the play even with <b>fatigue<\/b>, <b>monotony<\/b> or <b>distractions<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The game needs players who are <b>sensitive to the environment<\/b>: footballers who not only know how to <b>observe<\/b>, but who feel comfortable in a state of <b>active attention<\/b>, prepared to recognise the <b>unexpected<\/b> when it appears.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1586de9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1586de9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">When the origin of the error comes before the action<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ddf2e8c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ddf2e8c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><b>Execution<\/b> is the final element of the <b>decision-making process<\/b>. Before it, the player has had to <b>decode the environment<\/b> and <b>make a decision<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">But when the <b>attentional system<\/b> is not well built, decisions are not only delayed; they are constructed on <b>low-quality information<\/b>. And when information is deficient, <b>execution deteriorates<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Then the <b>error<\/b> appears in the form of an <b>imprecise action<\/b> or <b>ineffective execution<\/b>, and it is often interpreted as a <b>technical problem<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">When a <b>coach<\/b> observes \u201ca bad pass\u201d and corrects only the execution, they are acting on the <b>symptom<\/b>, not on the <b>origin<\/b>.<br \/>\nIf the goal is to develop <b>intelligent players<\/b>, the question should not be how to correct the error, but <b>what happened before it<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Key questions<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">What did the player <b>not see<\/b>?<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Which <b>signal<\/b> went unnoticed?<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">What <b>risk<\/b> was not interpreted?<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">What <b>advantage<\/b> was not recognised?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">And the question that <b>redefines the coach\u2019s role<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>What kind of experiences am I designing so that the player learns to observe, filter and decide better before executing?<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As <b>coaches<\/b>, the challenge is not to correct what is <b>visible<\/b>, but to understand its <b>invisible cause<\/b> and act upon it.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-58c1d1e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"58c1d1e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Training without attentional demand and demanding fast reading in matches<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-e42a7ca elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e42a7ca\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-0b42dd4\" data-id=\"0b42dd4\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c8b5ee3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c8b5ee3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\">When <b>training<\/b> is simplified excessively, <b>cognitive demand<\/b> is reduced.
